Elise Le Gallo Photography

I make work about seeing.

I investigate what we see, what we miss, and how light mediates everything in between. I’m drawn to what flickers, blurs, or hovers at the edge. In my photographs, a sequin dress becomes a constellation of glowing points. I want to show you color before form. To destabilize your eye, and ask you to find out with me what it is to “see.” Before thought, there’s a kind of knowing. I want us to talk about that.  That moment right before you wake up and start organizing perception into logical, limited conclusions. For me, the blur in a photograph is that space between what is and what can be.
